Today is “Take Your Child to Work Day.”
I’m pretty fortunate because I get to celebrate this unofficial holiday every single day of the school year.
With testing starting today, I’ve been a little flustered trying to create a testing schedule for our kiddos while also making sure they don’t miss any of their intervention time.
Testing is the pits. Especially when you’re in special education and you know how inaccessible these tests are for our kiddos.
But I’m inspired by these kids.
Despite the fact that they’ve had assessments thrown at them all year long, they persist and stay focused and are excited about their learning.
They keep my momentum going when all I want to do is run away from the craziness.
Whether it be a tight squeeze, a silly comment, or a celebration of their growth, they’ve given me so many special moments throughout the years.
So, yes. They are more than my students. They are my children.
And I’ll take them to work with me today.
And every day.
Question of the Day:
- Are you taking your child to work today?
Rachel says
Testing is ridiculous all around. I can’t even.
On behalf of parents everywhere, thank you for doing an awesome job. 🙂
