Sent a little grandparent meme to the moms in the midst of packing (and re-packing because Riyu thinks it's fun to pull clothes out of the suitcase while Ishu think it's fun to throw every toy ever owned into his suitcase. He stretched out every single one of his pop tubes and threw them in the suitcase as if that was the thing to prioritize this trip).

And, since we landed here on Saturday night, they have been the two little bosses of this house....

Every single day we walk Ishu to school, we pass by an Irish Pub called D4.

Ishu took a liking to the name and will call it A1, B2, C3, all the way to Z26. Get it?

Anyway, we've told him we would take him there for dinner some day. He really seemed to be interested in the library in there. We occasionally get a glimpse of the shelves of books through the windows and he always seems excited at the prospect of getting to eat in there. (As much as my kid can get excited about sitting down to eat something)....

Yesterday, when I dropped Ishu off to school, he walked into the gross motor room, turned back to look at me and said, "Have a good day at your book club!"

Which made me chuckle all the way home because I think it's hilarious that my 4-year old thinks that, whenever we're not with each other, it's because I'm doing book club things.

There was also this moment of pride I felt in walking away, thinking about how my big kid has wrapped me up in this identity. Over the past year, I feel as though I've stepped more into myself....

It's Halloween week! And, even though we've still

It's Halloween week! And, even though we've still got 3 days 'til the 31st, it feels like we've celebrated it one hundred times already.

Because our counter is covered with treats.

Our costumes are needing to be washed for the third time.

And it feels like eons ago when we bought these pumpkins sitting next to me.

I've never been a Halloween person before. I mean, I'd throw on an adult onesie because I worked at a school and, y'know, you gotta care a little bit. But, I never understood the appeal....
