This morning I woke up bright and early to do some major food prep for the week.
It’s not the most ideal way to spend Sunday morning, but I know I will appreciate it when I reach for blueberries instead of chocolate during stress/snack-mode.
I cheated a bit and bought some pre-made salads and pre-cut fruit. They’re just so tempting because they’re so inexpensive at Trader Joes! And I hate cutting watermelon.
So now, if you see me check in at a restaurant on 4Square, please feel free to yell at me and/or kick me in the face. I have plenty of food to get me through the week. No excuses.
I did, however, kick myself in the face when I met up with two friends at Kahoo Ramen for lunch. These plans were made before I went grocery shopping, so stop yelling at me.
After lunch, I was planning on going into work to do a little prep for the week. But it was too nice outside to not take advantage of it. So I took my work and drove to my favorite place to soak up the sun for an hour or so.
I cleared my mind, stocked my fridge, and got some relaxation time in.
Productive Sundays are my favorite.

Your Turn! 🙂
What does your Sunday typically look like?
What are one or two essentials you need in your fridge/pantry every week?

That’s such a great productive Sunday! I spent last Sunday prepping a ton of food for the week and making a bunch of food for the freezer. It totally made a difference in how I ate during the week and it’s good to know that I have healthy back-up food in the freezer too. But that ramen looks delicious! 🙂

I need to start putting things in the freezer! Now THAT’s a great idea for ultimate prep!

I am loving the Sunday food prep posts, I am so inspired and learn something new from each blogger. Everyone approches it slightly different, it’s so interesting. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Great job with the food prep!
My typical Sunday is spent relaxing, somehow. I do love going out for a hike or to the beach, when we can, too.
Hmmm, a must have in my fridge is fresh veggies and some fruit that I can easily snack on if I get hungry.
Have a great week!

Yes! Love a good hike early Sunday morning! 🙂

A very productive day!! I love how organized your fridge looks! I spend a lot of my Sundays prepping for the week ahead…cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry.

GREAT job on the food prep! That is how I spent my Sunday as well. Plus doing laundry. I love having healthy food ready for the week.

Your food is a lot more beautiful and delicious-looking than mine though! That’s FOR SURE! 😉

Trader Joe’s does have the best pre-made stuff and you def can’t beat the price! I didn’t do much food prep this Sunday… usually I do!

Every Sunday we food prep! Kale…veggies…chicken breast in the crockpot….I’d have no time for healthy lunches during the week if we didnt!

The crockpot is MY BEST FRIEND!

Great job! I am also getting inspired to start doing weekly meal prep for hubby and myself. Our fridge is packed to the gills BUT the problem is I don’t know what all is in there. The one thing that was on my list to get done this weekend, did not get done. That was to go through cabinets, fridge, etc. and make a list of everything we have.
Must haves every week are eggs and bananas!
eatteachblog says
I know!! I had to organize it this weekend because I found some moldy tomatoes. Ew.

I love me some Trader Joe’s! I didn’t have a change to go ANY food prep this weekend because I was in baby shower planning mode. I think I need to make a trip to TJ’s tomorrow to pick up some healthy snacks though. That Ramen looks great!
Laura @ Mommy Run Fast says
I’ve been working on getting more meal prep done on the weekends… it makes me feel ahead of the week! Bananas and almond butter are a must in our house. 🙂

That’s what I just ate for a pre-workout snack! It hit the spot!

So organized! I wish my fridge looked like that. It should! Maybe that’ll be next weekend’s activity!
Meredith @ DareYouToBlog says
WOW! I usually do some food prep on Sundays, but nothing like this! You’re so organized. I’m inspired — I’ll do better next Sunday 🙂

Ah Sunday! Yesterday was AMAZING!! My friend and I went to a delicious BRUNCH (at our spot, lol) and then we totally went to this sketchy looking massage parlor but wound up getting the BEST massages we have EVER had in our entire lives! Then we just hung out in the sun on the roof of my apartment! Talk about a SUNDAY!!! 😀
Staples that NEED TO BE IN MY FRIDGE or else I DIE (LOL): Spinach & Spaghetti Squash (and salmon too – but I keep all that in the FREEZER and just take enough out for a meal when I need it)!!!
Happy Monday to you! 🙂 This week is already shaping up to be a good one!
eatteachblog says
The sketchy places are THE BEST PLACES TO GET MASSAGES!
There’s one right by where I work that’s a “foot massage.” But basically it’s a $20 hour-long massage that is GLORIOUS.
Maybe I should do that some day this week…..
Danielle @ Truffles n' Treadmills says
I bet you are so happy you prepped! It looks like you have a lot of yummy things to snack on instead of sweets!
