We had a fun, spontaneous evening yesterday with the Potter kiddos.
Ishu was going to join Max’s soccer class this week for “Bring a Buddy” day. And Riyu was going to join Emmie’s.
But, because of the crazy weather, they canceled classes.
And, because we are two moms who really like when our kids are TIRED, we decided to pack them up and head to the trampoline park.
Sometimes these unplanned things come together better than if we actually planned it.
I mean, you never know when a kid’s gonna be sick. Or emotional. Or not feelin’ it. But when all the stars align and you just do a thing, it feels like a real win.
Ankur and I were laughing because, despite the fact that these two kids of ours grew in this same ol’ belly, raised by the same parents, there are times where they couldn’t be more opposite from each other.
Ishu very rarely stops moving.
And, multiple times yesterday, Riyu just cozied up with the floor telling us he was pooped. Ha.
I love them and their unique little personalities so much.
We also went to the Children’s Museum in the morning because, after multiple days of being cooped up at home, Riyu needed OUT.
And he was a much happier, sleepier kid as a result.
There are some people who wonder if we get tired from taking our kids out and around so much.
And I think the opposite is true.
We are way more tired when we are stuck inside for too long. Our kids are happier, more grounded, more regulated, more connected when they get to do the fun things and move their bodies. And we, in turn, are happier, more grounded, more regulated, and more connected.
So, that being said, I’m off to take this kiddo outside again today.
Have a good one!
