Coming in late this morning because we both slept in. If you can call it “sleeping in” when you wake up at 2:30am and wake up both your parents, forcing one of them into the other room, while you follow them into the other room and then keep them awake in there and then eventually fall back asleep ’til 7:30am.
Yes, I guess that is sleeping in.
Did that make sense?
I haven’t had coffee yet.
I think when we don’t take Ishu outside after his nap in the evenings, his body is just not tired enough to sleep hard.
That’s my theory.
I didn’t take him outside yesterday after his nap because I was wiped out from our morning.
Third tantrum in less than 24 hours?
This one was in the middle of his preschool prep class. I think I made things worse by trying to take him outta the room to calm him down. He freaked out and thought we were leaving his stroller behind. But, at that point, we were well on our way to the mama’s room in the bathroom to calm down.
Hysterical. Mama and baby.
WHAT IS GOING ON.
I’m tired.
This weekend, we are headed to our family wedding in NY and we’re bringing back Ishu’s Dadi and Babaji with us to stay with us for the next two weeks. And I am teary-eyed at the thought of getting to share the love and load with them. They’re so patient and loving and engaging and I think it’s exactly what Ishu (and his mama) needs.
We weren’t meant to do this alone. We were meant to be surrounded by a “village” of family and community. So we can tap out and regulate ourselves when we need it. So our littles can be raised by all the humans that love ’em.
And, while I can’t have that all the time given our current circumstances, you can be darn sure I’m going to soak it all up when we’ve got it.
FAMILY – we are ready for you! Can’t wait to see you TOMORROW! ISHU IS ALL YOURS.
