Ishu has reached an all new level of entertaining these days.
It’s just wild to me that you can say something in a conversation to someone else and he just PICKS UP ON A NEW WORD AND THEN APPLIES IT INTO HIS OWN CONVERSATION IN THE VERY CORRECT CONTEXT.
WHAT IS THIS MAGIC?
Toddler brains are just freakin’ amazing.
No wonder every parent out there is like, ‘MY KID IS A GENIUS.’
The number of things that their brains can retain simply by one exposure. Well, that certainly wouldn’t work in my already-overcrowded brain.
“I need help. You’re available,” he said to me yesterday as he pulled on my hand, leading me to the living room.
“AVAILABLE?! Where’d you learn ‘available?!’” I responded.
“Ms. Mari,” he said.
That’s the other thing. He knows EXACTLY where he acquired his new fancy words.
A few days ago, he was gulping down some milk. And both Ankur and I reminded him to go slowwwwwly so his belly wouldn’t hurt.
“I’m going slow. SLOW MOTION.”
Which, apparently, is a phrase he learned from Elmo.
He’s a flippin’ hoot these days and I LOVE watching the wheels turn in his fascinating little brain.
Please share your fun toddler communication stories with me. They’re my absolute favorite.
Hope you have a good one!

I was once amazed to see my little one converting shampoo bottle into “aam shampoo” by removing the label. She observed that in some TV commercial where a person compares “aam shampoo” with the brand he is promoting. And, the aam shampoo was simple white bottle. I had a hearty laugh to see her doing that and explaining the differences.. 🙂

Wow, your toddler is truly amazing! I love how he’s able to pick up new words and use them in the correct context. It’s incredible how much their little brains can retain. And the fact that he knows where he learned each new word is just mind-blowing. Your stories of his fascinating communication skills are always a delight to read. I can’t wait to hear more!
