Good morning.
LATE morning.
I slept in because, well, I barely slept last night.
We fell asleep with Ishu around 8:30ish. And then he woke up last night around 11:30pm, jolting me awake. Per usual, it takes me a few minutes to calm my heart beat down, even after he’s fallen back asleep. And then I had to pee. And by the time I was done peeing, I was wide awake.
So I read.
I shared my GoodReads books of the year post on Insta, sharing that I’ve read 105 books this year. And people were confused because how, as a mom, am I reading that much?
Well, yes. Last night is how.
I end up waking up and reading a lot in the middle of the night because I can’t get myself to go back to sleep.
This is probably not a healthy thing and I should probably figure out ways to get back to sleep after I’m woken up.
But, I mean, there are worse things I could be doing? Right?
I don’t know.
Anyway, I’m tired.
Ishu is still sleeping. Ankur just left for work.
And, on the counter, he left this for Ishu.
An apple with all the peels scraped off.
Dad of the year.
I’m going to go hydrate. There’s something about being restless at night that makes me feel extra thirsty.
HAVE A GOOD DAY.
Sleeping glasses says
I absolutely loved this post! Combining reading with better sleep habits is such a wholesome and effective approach. I’ve noticed that shifting from scrolling on my phone to reading a book before bed has made a huge difference in my sleep quality, too. To make it even better, I’ve started using nightease glasses in the evening, which helps me wind down faster and wake up feeling more refreshed. Such a simple habit, but it works wonders! Thanks for sharing these great insights.
