Good morning from this green-donut eating monster.
Ankur and I got some quality time together yesterday when his afternoon clinic was cancelled. We had ramen for lunch, popped in to the library to pick up some books, went for a long walk, got some ice cream at Jeni’s, and then picked up a sprinkled donut for our little guy.
Even when he’s not WITH us, we’re thinking about him always.
But it’s always nice to get time with the OG guy in my life. Especially because it’s hard for us to actually TALK and CONVERSE with each other when the little man is around. When we start to talk about something important, Ishu knows. And so he gets louder and more demanding. And then, by the time he’s asleep, one of us usually is too (mostly me). Ha.
So this was a really nice time together.
He got to share some things about work.
I got to tell him about this writer’s workshop I’ve joined.
One of the assignments this week is to write a 6-word memoir. Some of the favorites I read were, “I’m bordering on desperate for spring.” (RELATABLE) And, “I was too hard on myself,” and, “Everyone is always saying my name.” All. Very. Relatable.
I wrote 10 different memoirs. My personal favorite being, “My body was strong all along.”
I told Ankur about this assignment on our walk. He thought about it for a few minutes and responded with his own.
“Now a dad, always a kid.”
Which I think sums him up pretty damn well.
And now I must hurry up and get this green-faced monster ready for school.
But, I’d love to hear other people’s 6-word memoirs. SHARE THEM BELOW!
