Well, I should probably brace myself for this new ride we’re on. The one where Ishu brings home all the germs from the playground or daycare. And then he gets over his cough in one day and leaves his mama with a lingering cough/cold.
To be fair, I’d rather be the one dealing with the sickness than watch him go through it. But, yes, thanks to him, we had to cancel 2/3 playdates this week.
We still have one scheduled for Saturday morning and I’m crossing my fingers that I’m feeling better by then.
Thankfully, the fellow mamas completely understand.
And, fortunately, I’ve got my favorite primary care doctor on speed dial (thanks, Papa!) and he’s been taking care of me remotely.
We’re doing our best to stay hydrated and medicated and filling ourselves with all sorts of nutritious things. We went to pick up some veggies and salad supplies from Trader Joes (which, I still can’t believe is a half mile walk from our house). And we’re loading up on the good stuff.
A few months ago, Ishu learned to say “Beeeeh” (Bless you) each time we sneezed.
And, this week, every time I let out a loud, hacking cough, he looks at me, smiles, and says, “Beeeh.”
I guess I can’t be too mad at the little guy for giving me his sickies when he’s also giving me his blessings, y’know?
Now to go drown myself in water and tea!
Hope you’re all staying safe and healthy. And, if not? “Beeeeh” to you!

Aww you just can’t be mad at a little one giving you blessings! I hope you feel better soon though. Colds can be the worst sometimes.
