Good morning!
We got through the day yesterday with a ton of TV and a ton of water play.
I was noticing how much has changed in just a few months. Before, when I’ve had to juggle Ishu and my job, it was always a constant “putting myself on Mute” so I could redirect him back to the living room or TV.
And now? Now he’ll still try to come into the room. But he’ll linger at the door and make a show of tip-toe’ing in because he knows that Mama’s got her meetings and he’s supposed to be quiet.
It’s like something in his little brain has shifted and he can recognize these expectations that he couldn’t quite understand before.
I was impressed.
I’m also impressed at his little immune system that is so quick at recovering from coughs and colds. He’s rested, recuperated, and recovered. And heading back to school today.
I wrote this in my gratitude journal yesterday, I shared it on Instagram stories, and I also included it in my gratitude text. But I’ll repeat it here. I am beyond grateful to have a job that allows me to keep him at home on sick days. It’s not easy and it requires shifting things around. But I can make it work and I am so, SO thankful. I know that it’s something that so many parents struggle with and I wish that everyone had a Plan B or a Plan C to fall back on when their kiddos are sick.
Now, this mama is looking at a day of playing a bit of catch-up. But it doesn’t matter.
My baby is better. I will have a day of uninterrupted work time. And all is well.
Hope you have a great day!
