Today was fantastic.
Because I was a productive panda last night, I got to do ALL the fun things today. Jen and I woke up early and did a little bit more work and then went to Hakone Gardens around 11AM.
It’s only a few miles from my apartment but I had never been there before today! Fun Fact: They filmed Memoirs of a Geisha here.
It was pretty amazing to put all the ‘mindfulness’ skills from my meditation class to use. There was so much to see. And smell. And hear. And touch
We walked through the bamboo garden before we settled down to read our books.
I’m currently reading “Wild” by Cheryl Strayed. Jen’s reading “Room” by Emma Donoghue.
After an hour or so, we were ready for some lunch and drove over to Rio Adobe in Cupertino. The original plan was to stop at Subway (obviously), but I was really craving a HUGE salad.
We also ordered a sangria to split.
Since we were across the street from a Target, we swung by for a few minutes. And I’m proud to say that I walked out with NOTHING. Nothing, nothing, nothing. That happens…..NEVER. I deserve a medal.
We decided to drive up to Picchetti since Jen has never been before.
And she loved it.
We ran a few more errands – including grocery shopping (oh.my.god. Trader Joes on a Sunday evening. Never again). I picked up a few ingredients for some homemade pizza. And now just waiting for it to cool before we dig in! ๐
Hope your Sunday was nice and relaxing! ๐
