Hello and happy Monday (almost Tuesday)!!
I feel so rejuvenated after this three-day weekend. I was able to carve out some major relaxation time, but was also able to accomplish most of the things on my to-do list. I’d call that a success.
On Friday, I met up with some Cupertino folks for some happy hour festivities, but ended up leaving a little earlier than everyone else. Friday nights are usually pretty difficult for me to be young and energetic. After a long work week, my bed just seems way more appealing than a crowded bar.
Saturday morning, I woke up around 7 and went on a hike with some friends from work.
Naturally, we ended with some light wine tasting.
Beth got me a wine yoke for Christmas so I took advantage of that.
Look ma, no hands!
I dedicated Sunday to getting all my errands done. I wanted to make sure that I had a nice and peaceful Monday! I fueled up with a special treat and was able to knock off most things on my To-Do list by the late afternoon.
I swear this stuff is crack.
Beth and I spent the evening at home (sans X-mas tree <—– getting rid of Lord Kiwani was on the To-Do list. So sad). We watched a Sandra Bullock movie and made some Quinoa Fried Rice.
Today, I woke up at 4:30AM (I guess that’s what happens when your bedtime is consistently before 10PM every day). I was able to get a gym workout and a semi-long run in today. I also spent a good majority of time on the couch catching up on the zillion DVR’ed shows I’ve accumulated over the past 4 months. I was finally dragged off the couch to get a mani/pedi and some Yogurtland with Jen. It’s never too cold to get froyo. (Let’s be honest. It’s never too cold in Cali, period.)
But my biggest accomplishment of the day was finalizing all the details for the Book Club! We’ll be doing a meet-greet-&-eat next Thursday so everyone can meet each other and vote on our first book! I’m so excited for it!
Now, my friends, the early wake-up time is catching up to me and I am ready to crash. Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Good night!

Favorite cold weather food – CHILI! I made a huge batch in the slow cooker this weekend even though it’s 70 degrees out. 😉

I love the wine yoke! Too funny! I love soup and hot drinks on a cold day, but I live in Cali too so…Unbroken has been one of my favorite books in the last couple of years, plus the movie is coming out later this year or early next year. Amazing read.

My favorite cold weather food is chili! My suggestion for a book would be The Fault in our Stars or Mother, Mother!

Same – especially as a teacher, Friday nights are rough for going out. I get too tired!
Sounds like a great weekend, work and play, and activity!
The wine holder — too much haha.

So. This book club. Is there an option for tele-participation? I’m only kind of kidding. Would love to know what you all are reading!
