Can’t believe it’s already MONDAY. Can it be weekend forever and ever? I feel so unprepared for this week. EEK.
__
I was ridiculously giddy when I woke up on Friday morning. Probably very comparable to how a kid feels on Christmas morning. Which is appropriate because it was the day of our LONG LIVE CHRISTMAS party. My excitement was multiplied when I received a RED CUP from Starbucks. How fitting.
I had a pretty productive day on Friday. I can’t tell whether it was because I had 3 cups of coffee before 9AM or because I was just filled with excitement, knowing that post-work would bring some fun festivities.
Sam and Jimmy were the first ones there, naturally, so we took some pictures of them by the Christmas tree. Their outfits were the cutest.
Pretty sure that should be a Christmas card.
That was the extent of our picture-taking on Friday night, which is kind of a bummer because I REALLY wish we had captured the beer pong table we had set up next to the wall.
Around 2:30AM, the last few people left and I immediately passed out. Christmas is officially over, folks.
Saturday:
I woke up around 6AM (don’t ask me how!) and I was itching to start cleaning, but it was SO early and Beth was still sleeping. So, instead of trying to wipe the green slimy stuff off the countertops or vacuum up the crunched chips and popcorn pieces off the carpet, I decided to head to the LG Trail to watch the sun rise.
I love being able to have some quiet time in the morning while the rest of the world is still waking up.
After the sun came up, I went to pick Emily up and we both drove over to Bagel Guys for some breakfast sandwiches and lattes from Starbucks. Pretty much the best way to follow up a night of craziness. We then drove over to Jen’s and the three of us went grocery shopping for our book club brunch.
Jen prepared an amazing French Toast casserole and Juan made some breakfast tacos!
The whole set-up was great – even though we only talked about the book for 30 seconds (not everyone had finished it and it’s sort of a murder mystery, so talking about it would ruin it for everyone else!)
So we spent the remainder of the time watching videos of Sophia Grace and Rosie. We were really offended by Sophia Grace’s new music video about best friends. You can’t have a music video about best friends if you nix your sidekick. #BringBackRosie
Sunday:
On Sunday, we tried a new lunch place in the area. We were really excited about it, but we had definitely hyped it up because it was just okay. Bummer. Maybe they’ll get better as they’re more established.
BethyV and I went for a nice long walk on the trail in the evening and then the rest of the night was spent watching Amy and Tina take jabs at Clooney and Cosby.
Happy Monday!
