Scenes from These Days
One of these days, I’m going to come on here and write again. For realsies.
For now, I’m just photo dumping my way through these days.
It’s been a great week and a half.
Dadi came to hang out with the kids and experienced her first real snowfall here.
I got to go to my reading retreat. We watched People We Meet on Vacation the first night. And then read Conform on Saturday. And drove back home on Sunday.
The unanimous consensus: one day too short. Next time, we’re making it longer.
It was the perfect balance of extroverting and introverting. Social time to fill my cup while also giving me quiet time to decompress.
So perfect.
Also.
WE ARE OFFICIALLY DONE WITH BREASTFEEDING.
I can’t believe it.
I was so touched out, so done done done done done. And nothing I tried was working. (Mostly ’cause I wasn’t being consistent with anything). But Jenn suggested I put some band-aids on my boobs and, well, THAT WORKED LIKE MAGIC.
The first time he asked and saw them, he slowly backed outta the room saying, “I want Papa.”
And there was the occasional check-in to see if the band-aids were still there.
But he accepted it.
He moved on.
Before, if I were lying horizontal anywhere, he’d come up to me and say, “MAMA, can I have your dudu (milk)?” But the other day he came over and said, “Mama, can I have your snuggle?”Â
WHAT?
Anyway, genius plan. The band-aids. Who would have thought?! Shout-out to Auntie Jenn.
We’ve been spending a lot of time indoors because it is COLD COLD. But, thankfully, we’ve got friends who feel like family and everything feels easy and fun. The chosen village.
Okay,
That’s about all I’ve got time for. HERE’S THE DUMP!
