Good morning from my messy living room!
There are toys and books all over the floor because we were all too exhausted to clean up last night. It’s been an eventful weekend over here and, clearly, this messy house is a sign that we had other priorities these past couple days.
Friday
On Friday, we invited Mecca (my Starbucks friend!) and Rahul over for dinner. We got Lou Malnati’s delivered (which, if you’re wondering, is not that good when you’re not eating it at the restaurant). And we just hung out at home, sampling pineapple jalapeño margaritas (not me) and playing and dancing with Ishu.
By the end of the night, Ishu was calling them Mamuji and Mami. He woke up the next morning saying, “Mamuuuuu, Mami, Mamuuuuuu, Mami.”
Saturday
On Saturday, we stayed indoors because it was raining on and off. But we DID make a trip to our pool (which is indoors). Ishu loves swimming and when we tell him we’re going to the pool and change him into his swimsuit, he runs around saying, “Me poo, me poo!” (Swimming pool, swimming pool!).
Sunday
On Sunday morning, I went to brunch with Mecca and some of her friends at Roberts Pizza. We forgot that the Blue Angels Air show was going on from 12-1pm. So we just had zooming jet planes flying over our head for most of brunch. Doing flips and tricks. No big deal.
When I got home, Ishu was up from his nap (probably because the sounds of the planes were deafening). So we decided to head out and go to Costco.
We were in and out of Costco in less than an hour, which is pretty impressive for a Sunday afternoon.
And then we went over to Mecca’s place for dinner. She has a huge deck with some barbecues so she grilled some sausages and chicken and veggies.
She’s babysitting a golden retriever this weekend and Ishu was THRILLED to get to run around with him all evening. (And to have someone share his food and lick the hummus off his hands. Lovely).
Ankur and I are pretty convinced that he’s going to ask for a dog the minute he can start talking. He’s so obsessed.
Then, we made the long trek home (JK, she lives in the building across the street).
And FaceTimed with the fam to wish them Happy Rakhi!
Ishu got the cutest, custom Rakhi from his sweet Didi. He fell asleep wearing it and I’m going to save this forever once it falls off (or when he yanks it off).
Now it’s back to the Monday grind. (Not me. But Ankur). I still have one more week of SUMMER to enjoy! (Unfortunately, it’s going to be raining for a lot of this week, but we’re going to squeeze as much outdoors time as we can!).
Hope the rest of you had a beautiful weekend!
