Good morning!
We said goodbye to my parents yesterday morning and, while we were emotional, we are also grateful we’ll be seeing them again in a month!
It was so nice having them here and showing them a little bit of our life out here. Ever since they left, Ishu randomly calls out, “NaniNanu,” probably hoping they’ll pop out from the second bedroom. But then he’ll also say “airport,” so I think he’s able to make some sort of connection that they’ve left.
We’re back to somewhat of a routine over here. Ishu’s going to be starting daycare three times a week, starting today. So, hopefully, with the increased frequency, it’ll make it a little easier on him. We’ll see.
Here’s a quick recap over here from our fun weekend with Ishu’s Nani and Nanu. And then it’s off to drop Ishu to “coo!”
On Friday, we went on the architecture tour. It was a 90-minute tour and it was a really nice day to be out on the water. However, I definitely missed more than half of what the guide was saying because Ishu was more interested in going up and down the steps in the back of the boat. His obsession with stairs is REAL, my friends.
He had tired himself out by the time the tour was over so he passed out in the stroller while we went and got lunch along the river.
On Saturday, we walked over to Maggie Daley park. And I’m pretty sure my papa was more excited about it than Ishu. He’s the biggest kid of us all. Then, we walked over to Crown Fountain because, well, Ishu loves water. And, sure enough, it didn’t disappoint.
He played and splashed and played and splashed.
And then fell asleep in his stroller almost immediately after we dried him off and changed his clothes. Then, we walked over to Roti and got some salads and pitas for lunch.
When we got home, we went and met up with my papa’s friend from medical school again. His son and daughter-in-law and grandson were visiting from the suburbs so Ankur, Ishu, and I tagged along. It was really nice to see them after so long and I hope we can continue to stay in touch with them while we’re here!
On Sunday, we dropped my mama and papa to the airport and drove to the art festival happening in Old Town. Wells seems like such a hip, hop, happening street and I was excited to be out and exploring with my family.
We got burgers for lunch, Jeni’s for dessert, and listened to some music (Ishu’s favorite). Ankur and I left feeling pretty certain that we need to seek out more live music opportunities. Ishu LOVES music so much and he always wants to be dancing up front and center.
Ankur and Ishu went back home and took a long nap, while I went to go get a massage. When I got home, they were both still napping so I pulled out my Kindle and finished up this book. It was SO good. I highly recommend. A page turner to say the least. And keeps you guessing up until the very end!
The rest of the night, we just hung out at home and Portaled with the family. We ate some yummy food that my mama cooked (and we’ll likely have leftovers for the next few days!).
Now we’re off to get the day started. Hope you, too, had a wonderful weekend!

What a fun weekend, and visit with your parents! I’m sure you’ll find all sorts of live music opportunities for Ishu. I have The Silent Patient but need to read it.
