Good morning! Temperatures are dropping, friends. It’s a high of 74 over here today and 70s all across the board for this week. Fall is approaching and, while I am a little intimidated about going through a Chicago winter once again, I am very much excited about fall around here!
Apple picking and pumpkin carving and all the things.
But, we’re still in the summer mindset around here for two more weeks.
This weekend, we had a special visitor in town. My brother-in-law and now Ishu’s best friend was here for a conference so we got to spend some time together in the evenings. And goodbye wasn’t so sad because we’ll get to see the whole big fam this upcoming weekend for #SheSethYes.
On Friday, we had drinks by the river and then went to Parlor Pizza for dinner. It was so nice getting that quality time in with our Jeej. I also love me some twinkling lights on an outdoor patio.
On Saturday morning, we got to Portal with Richard and Gina. I love that I get to catch up with my FF while Richard and Ishu draw “together” or eat a snack “together.”
In the evening, we went to the museum for the last hour it was open. We didn’t do too much. Ishaan sat in this caregiver room and read books and played with some busy blocks. Still, it was nice to get out of the house.
And then on Sunday morning, Ishu got his second COVID shot. When it was over, they gave him a baggie with a “brave” certificate and some Goldfish crackers and stickers. But he was most excited about his new vax card.
He got a Tweety Bird Band-aid and, again, while we were in the observation room waiting for 15 minutes after the shot, they had Encanto playing for the kids. Really, a genius move on their part.
Afterward, we went to Seneca park across the street. And Ishu found this little object on the ground. I knew what it was immediately. Ankur thought he knew what it was (he was wrong). And then we had a fun guessing game with the cousins. I predicted which cousins were going to get it right based on their current phase of life.
And so now I will ask you…what do you think this thing on Ishu’s finger is?
THEN, we stopped for lunch on the way home. And also got a “Concrete,” which is essentially like a DQ Blizzard but with custard instead.
Once we got home, Ishu napped for nearly 4 hours. While I finished this book (so good!!) and started this book. I swear, Libby has changed my life. Oh, and also getting a pop socket for the back of my Kindle. Why didn’t I do this before?!
Now it’s MONDAY and Ishu and I are going to head out for a morning at the museum and then an afternoon at the playground. It’s so, SO NICE OUT.
Have a good one!
