Good morning!
I’m sitting at the kitchen table because Ankur and Dadi are doing drop-off today! We are all a very tired household over here. Ishu woke up at 1:30 and came over to our room. I let him stay in there for a little bit and was planning to move him after he fell asleep, but he was wide awake and kept moving. Ankur tried to take him back to his bed and stayed in there for an hour and a half with no success. Dadi took over for Ankur and he eventually fell back asleep around 5am.
So, yes. We are all going to be dragging today.
Yes, Dadi is in town!!!
She got in on Friday evening and we are oh-so happy.
She accompanied us to a birthday party yesterday. Ankur had to work, but to be quite frank, Dadi was the better one to take along for this situation. If there is any adult in the world that loves kids’ birthday parties more than the kid, it’s Dadi.
Yesterday’s party was at a kids science lab in Lincoln Park.
All the kids got to put on their individual lab coats and goggles and proceeded to do some colorful, slime and snow-making experiments. It was quite the hit.
We also had an adventurous evening. Adventurous in the fact that it was unexpected and made us very tired. Ha.
We sat down with the family to do our Second Sundays Zoom call but, within the first few minutes of our chat, I could smell smoke in our hallway. So the three of us (Ankur was at work) just up and left the building just to be sure. And, sure enough, there was a mild fire in our building. We killed time by going to Baskin Robbins. Not a bad way to spend some time, y’know.
Then when we got back, the fire was out but the elevators were shot. So we had more time to kill (with a 3-year old who had way too much rainbow sherbert) while the elevator repairman came back to fix the elevators.
So, yeah. Tired family. But Ishu’s going to school today. So hopefully we can (finally) pack that hospital bag and do some last minute things before the end-of-the-week-upheaval!
HAVE A GREAT ONE!
