Good morning and happy Monday!
I’ve got a little monkey home with me today. He’s got a teeny cough and so we’re curled up on the couch – me typing this post and him watching the Curious George movie.
Ishu and I had a good weekend together! I’m going to share a quick recap before putting the computer away for the day.
Ankur was on call this weekend so it was (mostly) just the two of us.
On Saturday, we went to Leela and Maya’s b-day party. They are Ishu’s cousins (my cousin, Neal’s daughters). I was so surprised to see my Chacha and Chachi there when we got to the park. It was so fun getting to see them both after so long (I think the last time we saw them was when we first moved to Chicago. They live in Pittsburgh but were here this weekend for the birthday party!).
Ishu took an instant liking to my Chachi and called her “Badi Nani” for the entire morning. Anyone who will kick a soccer ball back and forth with this kid has an instant “in.” Ha. Chachi also knows the things to do to win a kid over (she’s got 4 grandkids herself!).
And then on Sunday, we had swimming lessons in the morning. After his nap, we wanted to take advantage of the amazing weather so went for a long walk. We ended up at the 900 shops and stopped in at Bubbles to do a drop-in art project. This week’s art project was decorating sunglasses.
Since we were already there, we decided to have Ankur meet us there at Aster Hall for dinner!
Ishu also had fun walking around the mall, pointing out every single mannequin to us. Asking us things like, “Why does this one have no legs?” “Is this a grown-up mannequin or a kid mannequin?” “MANNEQUIN! MANNEQUIN! IS THAT A MANNEQUIN?!”
This kid.
He has all the energy.
He takes all the energy.
But I just love him so dang much.
Hope you all had a happy weekend as well. 🙂
