It’s Monday!
The weekend flew by.
As it does.
The baby is napping, so let’s do a quick recap of our weekend before I gotta jump into work.
Friday
Coffee club in the morning felt so special. It was so nice connecting with other neighbors. Everyone seemed so cool and their life experiences and interests made me all the more excited to connect with them.
Ankur got a little time off work so we got to grab lunch together before we had to pick the little guy up from school. (Pajama day and he was rockin’ his Eric Carle ones. We stopped for a rainbow popsicle on the way home to celebrate FRIDAY!).
Saturday
The baby and I did not have a good night of sleep. So I ended up falling asleep with him during his first nap of the day. Ankur and Ishu went to the park together. And then, when we were both up and ready, we went to meet them at the park.
Aside from an hour nap, we spent the entire day outside. Which left no time for cooking.
So we ordered Japanese.
Ishu made his own sushi rolls. With seaweed and white rice and avocado.
He calls it “shu-shi” and I’m never gonna correct him.
Sunday
The kids stayed home with Abby while Ankur and I went out on an early anniversary celebration. Can’t believe it’s been 8 years since our engagement party turned into our wedding.
We went to Lula Cafe for brunch. Everything was so fresh and yummy. Ankur got the biscuits and gravy. I got this yummy frittata sandwich with asparagus. SO GOOD.
And then when they found out it was our 8th anniversary, they surprised us with some Thai Tea sorbet which was creamy and refreshing and so so delicious.
After brunch, we spent a good hour at the bookstore next door.
I could have spent all day there.
The staff placed little notes under some of their favorite books explaining why they loved them.
This was a great way to discover books that weren’t necessarily on my radar. Like getting a recommendation from a fun, knowledgable, book-loving friend. (Also, this description of How to Keep House While Drowning is spot-on. “Keeps the shame out of messiness and helps to refocus what’s important.” YES YES YES. Highly recommend this book that was recommended to me by my PT!).
We met the kiddos at the park and then proceeded to spend the rest of the day outside.
Not a bad way to spend a weekend.
I just finished reading Wildfire (2/5 stars, do not recommend). And started reading Tom Lake.
But after visiting that bookstore, I have added 2293842 books to my TBR list.
TOO MANY BOOKS, NEVER ENOUGH TIME.
Alright, I’m off to try to work my tail off to leave me some reading time today.
Have a good one!
