Good morning, good morning. HOW IS IT MAY?! I can’t even believe how fast this year is speeding by.
Hope you all had a great weekend. Our weekend was spent scootering around town.
We went to the Navy Pier early Saturday and Sunday morning to scoot down the pier. And I think having that wide space helped Ishu master the art of the scooter. He’s figured out how to turn, how to slow down when going down a small incline, and how to SPEED and keep Mama runnin’ behind him.
He looks like a little pro.
There was definitely some next level determination to get it right. If we could bottle up a toddler’s determination (and energy) and pass it around, we’d probs put Starbs outta business.
We also got to celebrate Holi with some other kids and families at the park. It was pretty low-key, but Ishu had fun shaking the colors around.
“Mo colors, Mama,” he’d say. I initially put the powder in a bowl for him and then he just dumped that on the ground instead of sprinkling it slowly. I learned to snip the packet a tiny bit at the corner so each packet had a longer life. Ha.
It was really nice of one of the parents to organize that for the community. Not a ton of people showed up because of the rain, but it was small and intimate which was nice.
We also made a short trip to the Children’s Museum on Sunday morning since we were already out at the Navy Pier scooter-ing.
Still waiting on their water exhibit to open! I know Ishu is going to LOVE that one. Despite the number of times we show up and do the same things over and over and over again, he LOVES the ‘mee-um,” and I stand by the fact that this was the best investment ever.
We will definitely be renewing our membership until we’re outta here!
I was also able to get some solid reading in this weekend during Ishu’s nap time. Finished this book and almost finished this one. Recommend them BOTH!
Now the two of us are going to dig into some egg muffins we made for breakfast before I have to get my head on for work.
Happy Monday to you!

Our brave daring Ishu.
Determined to do it all.
Scootering, Holi, Mee-um, ……
and then in the end finds comfort in his mommy’s arms.
Stay blessed always.
