Good morning and happy, gloomy Monday over here!
But I’ll take it. It’s not too hot, not too cold. It’s just right.
I sound like Goldilocks.
Our weekend wasn’t as eventful as I thought it’d be. Earlier I had seen the forecast and thought I’d do everything in my power to be outside for as long as possible, but also, I felt tired from the week.
So we did a little outdoor time, rested a lot, and caught up on some work stuff too.
On Saturday, I went to go to my workout class and then Ankur and Ishu met me there when it was over. We all walked over to Goddess and the Baker for breakfast.
And then, afterward, made a trip to Costco, which is slowly becoming one of Ishu’s favorite places. We went to pick up Ankur’s glasses and picked up a few groceries (and samples!) as well.
Ishu sampled the pancakes TWICE because he liked them so much. (But fast forward to Sunday when Ankur made him pancakes at home and he took a few bites and left the rest. Toddlers do you dirty like that. When you think you’ve got something they’ll eat, they’ll throw it back at you and say, ‘Nah, not today.’).
Sunday morning, I went to another workout class and then Ishu and I went out walking in the rain for a bit. We’re starting to see bits of spring around here and I am SO EXCITED. Ishu and I went on a hunt for tulips. A few of them have opened up, but I can’t wait to see all those colors pop soon!
I see the appeal of four seasons. I really do. It’s hard to feel that way when you’re in the thick of winter, but I like how we get to experience four really different Chicagos!
Then the rest of the day, we spent inside. Ishu’s cousins also got him a kitchen set for his birthday. So we put that together and then the little ones had a cooking party over Zoom with their respective kitchen sets.
I love watching them love each other. I can’t wait ’til we’re all together in August!
Now we’ve got a busy week ahead of us. Glad we got some good rest in.
Hope you had a great weekend!
This blog post is brought to you by Ishu’s new kitchen set, which kept him busy the entire time I typed this up. Ha.
