Good morning!
We are back in Chicago and we are missing our family an insane amount. Usually when we leave our family behind, Ishu will be sad in the moment. But then, once we are at the airport and definitely once we are back in Chicago, he has usually been an “out of sight, out of mind” kid.
But now?
Now he’s sad the night before. He’s sad when we say our goodbyes. And, at least 10 times in the last 24 hours, he has said he wants to go back to California.
The attachment to his family is all too real and it makes me feel even more homesick.
We had such a great week and we’re already trying to figure out how to make another trip back home soon.
We are all taking a day to recover. I’m technically on Spring Break this week. But the kids are jet lagged and we figured it’d be nice to ease back in to real life.
We’re actually going to be able to put our suitcases away by the end of the day. Which is a huge improvement from our last trip where the suitcases were out for two weeks. Ha.
We got a bit of grocery shopping done and, since I’ve got no work this week, I’m sure I’ll be able to do some solid meal prep.
Now I’m off because Ishu’s got scissors and he’s attempting to cut the baby’s playmat. So g’day.
