Time is moving way too quickly these days.
By the time I have a second to sit down and write up a post about our weekend, it feels like the next weekend is right around the corner. Ha.
When you’re younger, it feels like the countdown to anything is BRUTAL. Days feels like MONTHS and months feel like YEARS.
But now that I’m a “grown-up,” I’m just wondering how I have an almost-4 year old and an almost-7 month old.
How is everything MOVING SO FAST?!
SLOW.
THE.
EFF.
DOWN.
PLEASE.
Maybe if I TYPE EVERYTHING IN CAPS LOCK, THE UNIVERSE WILL HEAR MY MESSAGE.
Okay, anyway, not a lot to report on this weekend.
Ishu’s moving along through the Kung Fu Panda series. Ankur’s turning him into a real movie buff.
I finished this book and this book and this book. (If I had time, I’d totally love to write GoodReads reviews, but, instead, I just give ’em some stars and move right along).
We went to Gallagher Way for a St. Paddy Day’s celebration. Any celebration in the city that offers kids some free face painting and balloon animals is sure to be jam-packed and chaotic and crazy and claustrophobic. So we didn’t stay for too long. Ishu got a balloon animal, watched some Irish jigs, and followed a man on stilts around the area. And then we went off to find lunch.
And the rest of the weekend, we were in ‘recovery mode’ (by “we,” I mean me and the baby). Recovering from whatever virus we got while in Florida. It’s a real kick-in-the-pants to be sick as a parent. I mean, it’s already hard enough to be a parent. But then to not have the 1) energy, 2) voice, 3) stamina to keep up with your 3-year old. Well, it’s pretty much a failed effort.
I will say that this is the first time I’ve been sick in a long while.
And when you’re a mom to young kids, it’s unavoidable. So, I think it was probably about time something knocked me down.
So that’s that.
Grateful for the sunshine, park playdates, the ability to work from home, and the leftover enchiladas in our fridge (which means this mama doesn’t have to cook anything ’til tomorrow).
I’m signing off for the day and going to take advantage of the beautiful spring weather outside!
