Good morning, good morning!
Another weekend has come and gone.
It blows my mind that we are already moving along in December now.
We didn’t pack too much into this weekend. I learned my lesson the last time we tried to do the farm and the trick-or-treating and the pumpkin patch and all the things. Ishu ended up getting real sick after that weekend (was out of school for a week!), so I tried to stick to a more balanced approach to this weekend. Ha.
On Friday, we picked him up from school and had a nice, nourishing dinner at home. (I just did a Trader Joes run and I was feeling excited about all the things in our fridge).
On Saturday, I took an early morning OTF class. And then, after, decided to take an extra 15 minutes to go to the coffee shop and do some journaling.
I always love the weekends where Ankur is off on both Saturday AND Sunday. Because I feel like the three of us get some quality time together AND I get some solo time which is always appreciated.
I bought that 7 dollar Gingerbread House Kit from TJs and Ankur and Ishu had fun putting that together.
And by “together,” I mean Ishu ran circles around him while Ankur was hunched over trying to get the two sides of the house to stick. And by “had fun,” I mean Ishu enjoyed snacking on the gummies and finished them before the house went up.
The whole thing was in the trashcan 2 hours later. Ha.
But 7 bucks for making a memory I will never forget. Naked Ishu running around the house while Ankur was being a real grinch about the spilled icing.
We had leftovers for lunch and made homemade pizza for dinner.
And then in the evening, we joined the family karaoke party on the Portal and Ishu had a ball, dancing around the living room and cheering for his grandparents when they were up to sing.
We also got this wireless, bluetooth microphone for him and I’m pretty sure it was well worth the investment. He had so much fun singing and dancing to his “Seeti Bajaye” song over and over and over.
On Sunday, we went to Winterland at Wrigley Field.
We’ve never been to the stadium before and it makes me laugh that our first time there was definitely NOT for a game. Ha.
We bought some ‘peppermint package’ that allowed for 10 tickets to the attractions. But the only ones that he could do were the train and the teacups. He’s still a short little munchkin.
But Max and Ishu shared their first experience of s’mores with one another.
And they were pretty thrilled to ride the train and see all the fun decorations.
Around 1pm, we left the stadium and Ishu immediately fell asleep in the stroller. So Ankur and I took advantage of the Christkindlmarket outside and ordered some things for lunch.
And that’s it!
Hope you had a happy weekend! Can’t believe it’s DECEMBER.
