Morning!
I was dragged out of bed this morning by a hungry toddler who refused to eat dinner.
“Mama, let’s go get some food,” he said.
And then I made him green pancakes. Green pancakes that he was excited about.
And he ate a couple bites and is now over it.
So, I’m going to take some deep breaths so I don’t throw this green batter at him.
Yes.
That’s one of the perks of sending him to school. They do a morning snack, a lunch, and an afternoon snack. ALL THINGS I DON’T HAVE TO MAKE.
And he is generally a good little eater at school (knock on wood), so thank goodness it’s Monday, huh.
Before we start getting ready for school, let’s do a quick weekend recap, yes?
On Friday, I kept Ishu home from school because he was vomit-y in the middle of the night.
We watched a lot of the holiday shows/movies on PBS Kids. He’s recently gotten into Super Why. Probably because he’s obsessed with the alphabet and they go over the letters in that show. Hip-hip-hooray, the super readers save the day!
Ankur had his holiday party in the evening. Jenn popped by to drop off some cookies and Ishu fell asleep by 7pm. Win win win.
On Saturday, we decided to venture outside and play with the snow. We took all of Ishu’s snowball making things and walked over to the park.
We didn’t stay for too long, but after being cooped up in the apartment for a few days, it felt invigorating.
In the evening, we went over to Jenn and Mike’s for a pizza night.
It’s always the hap-hap-happiest when the boys play together. They’re so sweet with each other.
Jenn and Mike made some pretty incredible food and we all left feeling so happy and stuffed. (I’m trying to convince Jenn to pick up a side hustle as an influencer. My camera roll is filled with all the pictures of products she’s made me wanna buy. Well, that, and pictures of the boys. Because, LOOK AT THEM).
Yesterday, we stayed indoors all day. Ankur had to go into work. So Ishu and I hung out at home. We made holiday ornament cookies.
Ishu was convinced that the little candy balls were for eyes and not for ornaments. And he was very confused by my placement of eyes on a Christmas tree.
And that’s it.
Our weekend was very low-key. And, now, I’m happy that Ishu returns to school. So I can clean up this apartment. And, also, so he can eat food. Ha. After a weekend of being rejected so many times, I’m ready. THERE’S ONLY SO MUCH MY HEART CAN TAKE.
Hope you all had a relaxing weekend!
