GOOD MORNING!
Almost afternoon.
But, y’know. I get here when I can get here.
My child is back in school after a 6-day hiatus. Cold season is among us and we’ve been hit. I’m sure we will be hit again. We’re leaving for California this weekend. So by the time this week is over (assuming he goes to school all of the days), he will have attended 7 days of school this month. Now if I divide tuition cost by the number of days, well…I just don’t want to do that. Because it makes my stomach hurt to think about how much we are paying HOURLY this month. Ha.
Anyway, moving right along.
Let’s share weekend pictures!
On Friday, we built a lot of things with our Magnatiles, took an hour long bath, and ordered pizza for dinner because the week has felt LONG with both these kiddos home with me (and one of them being a night that Ankur was on call).
On Saturday, we went to a Diwali event. We went to this event last year and loved it a lot. (Also, re-reading that post from last year made me so nostalgic. Ishu seemed so itty-bitty. And holy moly, we packed in so many things to our weekends back then. Things are so different now, hahaha. If we can do ONE thing a day, I feel like a real winner).
In the evening, Ankur did me a solid and took Ishu out of the house to go for a long walk and buy a KinderJoy from Target. Haha. It felt real nice to have just a little space after having them both around all week long!
And then on Sunday, we celebrated Diwali. And by “celebrated Diwali,” I mean we cleaned a little, danced a little, watched some Diwali clips, read a Diwali book, made a Diwali poster, took out our diyas, and did our best to explain to our little guy what the Festival of Lights is.
It was too cold and windy to spend too much time outside. So I tired the kid out by walking all the way up the stairwell (while making him hold a heavy object). This wasn’t torture. I swear. He asked to do this. I just thought I’d make it worth our while by bringing his heavy toy along.
But, somehow, he still had all the energy in the world. So we also used the Nugget to get some climbing and jumping in.
I wish they could find a way to bottle up the energy of a three-year old and sell it. I’d pay SO MUCH MONEY FOR IT.
Oh yes. And, also, Ishu realized he could button up his own clothes. So he spent a good 20 minutes doing that on Sunday evening. And then another 20 minutes on video chat with his grandparents to show them his new skill.
And that’s it! Another weekend come and gone. Now I’m over here with my Monday outside coffee. Anyone else?
Hope you all had a good weekend ๐

Oh I feel you on the hourly cost of tuition when your kid misses days of school. I also don’t want to think about it.
