It’s 8:30pm and yet, my brain wants to type out “good morning” because I typically write these posts in the AM.
But, for whatever reason, I never got a chance to sit down with my laptop.
So, here we are.
A brief weekend recap before I go dive headfirst into my bed. Needing to maximize as much sleep as I can tonight because last night was NOT a restful one!
On Friday morning, we joined Jenn and Emmie at the Nature Museum.
Snakes and turtles (Emmie’s fav) to see, things to climb, and butterflies to hold. Not a bad way to spend a Friday morning!
Friday after we picked Ishu up from school, the kiddos watched Shrek 2 while I made some Creamy Chicken Chili (shout out to ChatGPT for giving me an easy recipe when I gave it a list of ingredients I had on hand).
Saturday morning, I took Ishu to gymnastics while Riyu stayed home with Papa. They met up with us when it was over and we walked over to the Children’s Museum.
Ishu has been very much in an “art project” phase so we took advantage of the Art Studio class and did some projects there.
He loved using the oil pastels to draw on black paper. It felt very magical to him.
He’s also very into “building a house” wherever he is.
Like, for real. Sometimes I’ll bring him with me into the package room to pick up some packages and he’ll crawl in between some boxes and say, “LOOK MAMA, I MADE A HOUSE.”
For a while, he designed the couch to be his house and the living room was his backyard and all our furniture was topsy turvy and enough was enough was enough and so Ankur and I made a rule that all his houses he wanted to build must be built in his room.
So, the rest of the day on Saturday, we built a little corner nook (AKA “A HOUSE”) for him and, by FREAKING GOLLY, our dining chairs and couch have been untouched since then.
On Sunday, Ankur and Ishu got a haircut in the AM. And then Ishu and I went to meet up with some friends at ClimbZone while Riyu stayed home with Ankur.
It was our first time at this place and we will most certainly be back.
I’ve been telling everyone that it was, perhaps, the first and only time I’ve heard Ishu say he was TIRED and then sit down to take a rest. What? WHAT? Do we invest in a membership? Do we go here every weekend? What is this magical feeling?
The package we got also included Laser Tag and three rides on the Bumper Cars which were also a big highlight for him.
Anyway, yes, we will be back.
This place is so good.
From there, we went to a birthday party for a friend in Ishu’s class.
And, to be quite honest, I was pretty surprised that Ishu was still standing when we got home. (Though I don’t know WHY I am always so surprised he has endless energy. It should really be a given at this point).
But he knocked out pretty quickly. (As did I). Wrapping up our weekend with fun memories and an intact living room. I’d call it a win.
Alright, I’m off to bed with my book!
Good night!
