Good MORNING.
We are frozen.
Chiberia.
Yesterday, a tiny bit of my ankles were exposed while walking to the car.
And it felt like they were stinging for HOURS afterward.
Okay, I’m being dramatic.
But, it was cold.
It’s cold.
Ishu is not normally one to complain about the weather. But, even in all his layers and his massive snowsuit, he was freezing.
We are Californians through and through.
Anyway, this weekend recap will be quick. Because half of my morning is devoted to layering my child with all the clothes. It’s quite the process.
Friday
We all stayed home ’cause of the snowstorm!
We woke up and it was snowing sideways. So, we had waffles, watched Toy Story 4, and played online games with friends.
At some point, the snow stopped pouring down. And Mama had Indian food delivered to the apartment. Which felt like a nice treat that we are still benefitting from because leftovers for DAYS.
Saturday
On Saturday, we ventured outside for a bit to play in the snow.
We threw some snowballs, made some snow angels, walked over to the grocery store for some things, and then, as we were headed home, Ishu asked to stop at Starbucks.
I’ve created a monster.
His beverage of choice is the steamed apple juice.
Pastry of choice is, obviously, the cake pop. He decided to be adventurous and go with the peppermint cake pop. And essentially just scraped off the candy cane with his teeth and left the rest. Wasteful.
Sunday
We had Ishu’s former teachers over to the house. Which was so so nice.
One of them brought her violin and played Baby Beluga and Jingle Bells. Which was pretty exciting for Ishu and then he wanted to bring everyone into his room to show off the fact that he could play Twinkle Twinkle on his little piano.
We ate sheet pan pancakes and an egg bake.
We played trains and spent a lot of time in Ishu’s room, which is coming together slowly but surely! Actually, today the trundle part of the bed will be done. And we’re putting together a new dresser for him that’ll sit in his closet, giving him more space for play.
I think, after today, we’ll have the main stuff taken care of.
And then it’ll be time to put together a list of things that would be fun to have.
Jenn gave us a really good idea to put together a list of things that Ishu wants (e.g. a tent or a beanbag chair or other random fun things) and use that as his birthday wishlist.
So we’ll work on that soon. He seems so BIG to me these days.
If I think about that for too long, I get really emotional and weepy. So I’m gonna put the kabash on that for now and save the emotions for a more opportune time. Like not at a time when I should be getting my child ready, y’know?
OKAY.
I gotta go.
Layering time.
Have a good one and STAY WARM OUT THERE.
