Scenes from the Weekend: 1/12/26
A photo dump is all I’ve got the energy for this evening.
Ishu has had lots of days off of school. Ankur’s been working a lot. And I’m a real tired mom.
And, still, I’m somehow keeping my sanity. And living by these three affirmations that I keep repeating to myself (thank you, ChatGPT for simplifying the chaos in my brain and spitting out something so simple and digestible) and writing them down each morning during our journaling sesh that’s keeping us going.
- I can feel overwhelmed and stay kind.
- Being needed does not mean I have to rush.
- My presence matters more than my productivity.
There are pen marks all over our sheets. And walls. And everywhere, really. Riyu loves a pen. But he lets me sit and journal most mornings so I gotta take what I can get.
Okay, here are some snapshots from the past few days.

There really is something to this whole journaling practice.
When I’m in the groove with the whole journal thing and taking the time to be reflective each morning and evening, I really do notice a whole lot more beauty in my day.
It also just sets me up to be a little more intentional with my day (as much as you can be with two crazy monkeys).
Anyway, I’m off. It’s bedtime for this tired mama.
Good night!
