Yesterday, we went to pick Ishu up from school and I was so focused on gathering all the things and prompting him to change from his inside shoes to his outside shoes, that I wasn’t at all paying attention to the other little monkey with us.
Ishu jumped up in the middle of changing his shoes and ran over to the stroller.
At first, I was ready to lose it that he found yet another distraction to keep us from getting out the door.
But then, I realized WHY he ran over to the stroller.
Riyu was saying, “16, 17, 18, 19, 20!” and then screaming, “READY OR NOT, COME!!!!”
Hahahaha.
It was the best.
And Ishu’s reaction to it was priceless.
I often times feel very impatient when I’m having to stand there and prompt Ishu through a simple task that shouldn’t require all the prompting. He is at the age where everything is pulling at his attention.
And, yet.
Yesterday’s distraction was worth it. Ha.
Okay, and while I’m sitting here talking about things Riyu says. He just walked behind me and said, “OH MY DOOHNESS.” (Oh my goodness).
Oh, he’s simply the best.
And Ishu too.
Despite the fact that I’m not talking to Ishu, the person. I’m talking to Ishu, the teenaged parasaurolophus. (Let it be known that I’m rarely ever talking to Ishu the person. He is always some sort of creature. And the best way to get him through the morning is to play along with him).
That being said, I’m off to drop this dinosaur to school.
Have a good one!
