Holy heck – it’s been a hot minute since I’ve updated the blog (I teach my kids some vocab. In return, they teach me words like “hot minute” and “ratchet.” I think it’s a pretty even exchange).
Moving on.
I haven’t updated and/or posted pictures from Rachel‘s wedding last weekend. It. Was. The. Best. One thing I love most about weddings – especially weddings of your super, super good friends – is that it’s an opportunity to be reunited with EVERYONE. On Saturday afternoon, we all checked into the Hyatt in Westlake Village on Saturday afternoon and spent some time catching up. A few drinks hours later, we took the shuttle to Sherwood Country Club where the ceremony and reception would be held.
Adam and Rachel started dating back in middle school when they met in band class. They dated all through high school and, though they attended different colleges (Adam went to our crosstown rival school, USC. Ironic!), their relationship remained strong. I feel so fortunate that we got to celebrate this special day with them! Listening to the maid of honor and the best men speeches reminded me just how beautiful this couple really is.
The ceremony was short, speakers had spoken, the bar was open, and the DJ was fab. So the rest of the night was spent dancing and posing for photos with the lovely PhotoBooth props.
Side note: Those glasses may have found their way into my suitcase home and will make a re-appearance in my post when I recap THIS weekend’s festivities.
The dancing lasted until 2AM and, because we were in the middle of nowhere, there weren’t many places to end the night. We may have got yelled at by the hotel staff for trying to continue the party in one of the rooms. As we were walking back to our room, I ran into some friendly faces in the lobby who were quite determined to get some grub and convinced their cab driver to take them to the Jack in the Box 10 miles away. (THIS is one of the many reasons why I love my friends!)
Last weekend made me long for a week back in college! We are all spread out all over the map right now and it felt so nice to be reunited with everyone. I just love that we never seem to miss a beat and pick up right where we left off whenever we see each other. I am very blessed.
Congratulations to Adam and Rachel! They are in Anguilla right now on their honeymoon – making us all jealous with all their Facebook posts. 🙂
Update on this weekend will come tomorrow! Good night, my friends.

I LOVE weddings!!!
Oh, and I definitely agree one of the best things about working with kids is the slang they teach you. Ratchet is my personal favorite right now!
My props would be huge sunglasses and a tiara!
