MORNING!
Hope (most) everyone enjoyed their long weekend. Ishu’s school isn’t like your typical school so they stay open for all these holidays. I wonder if it’s because we’re near the hospital and a lot of the medical staff don’t get these holidays off. Either way, Ankur and Ishu went to work/school.
I stayed home to get some house work done. Laundry, packing, storing away the baby’s old clothes.
When Ishu got home from school on Monday, I asked him if it was a “blue day.” Blue days are not traditional school days. They do a lot more unstructured play. Sometimes they’ll combine classes.
So I asked him, “Was today a blue day?”
“No,” he responded, “but it was George Washington’s birthday.”
I smiled.
“But, guess what?” Ishu continued, “He’s already dead.”
“Yeah,” I said. “He was our first president. It’s actually Presidents Day today.”
“Yes,” Ishu nodded, “Presentation day.”
He took a bite of his pasta and pointed to the window where we could see the glow of the buildings around us. “Actually it’s presentation night.”
Ha.
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.
Anyway, other things we did this past weekend:
We celebrated our little guy’s 6 month birthday.
Ankur and I had Abby stay with the kids for a little bit so we could go get brunch and, y’know, talk without being interrupted a gazillion times.
We went to Wake n’ Bacon on Belmont and it was so fun to eat food without cutting up someone’s waffle first or hearing crying about why their waffle wasn’t cooked right.
I think I chewed my food more than ever before.
I ordered one of their coffee drinks. Their Ube coconut milk concoction mixed with cold brew and oat milk. And I’ve never had a coffee so delicious. I’d go back here for the coffee alone.
We also got my eyebrows threaded, which felt like a long time comin’.
On Saturday morning, I took Ishu to a playdate at one of our friend’s buildings indoor playrooms.
On Monday, we had the baby’s 6 month check-up.
And then, yesterday, it was so beautiful outside, we all met up at the park with our kiddos and got a fun little taste of spring/summer.
Now we’ve got some packing to do for the week ahead! I’ll probably be back here on MONDAY!
Have a good one!
