Yesterday was Family Day at the Childrens Museum and Navy Pier. So the museum was open later than it usually is on Thursdays.
Jessie and I took the kids to the museum which was a bit over-stimulating for all of us. And then we walked over to the park to enjoy some popsicles. Jessie has all the ultimate mom hacks and she stored some popsicles in a Hydro Flask and they stayed nice and frozen.
I was reminiscing on the Popsicles in the Park event that happened last year. (<— gahhhh, Ishu was SO LITTLE).
It’s also making me extra emotional to re-read that post because the kind woman I wrote about was Jessie! And now I can’t even IMAGINE what this year would have looked and felt like without her and the boys.
From park trips to pool days to playdates, it’s been the best having their family nearby. When our own family is so far away. They are always so thoughtful, leaving us fun surprises on our door or showing up with delicious treats and/or flowers.
They leave us in June to move down south and we are going to miss them SO MUCH.
Jessie has been a sounding board for a lot of my momming decisions and it’s been really nice to get to have a mom friend who truly understands the chaos and craziness of being married to someone going through residency.
We won’t ever forget the kindness and love they showed us this year. We love them SO MUCH!
