Polar Vortex and Book Clubs

Hello friends – hope you all had a fabulous hump day! 🙂

We got a little bit of rain over here on the west coast, so I can definitely relate to all of you experiencing the Polar Vortex madness.
***I hope you can sense 100% sarcasm there. I almost left off this clarification, but I feel like there’s at least one of you that’s shaking their fist at their computer screen. I’M KIDDING.

Apparently, some dude escaped from a Kentucky prison. But the wind chills were too much for him to handle so he decided to stumble into a motel and turn himself in. Prison > Polar Vortex. Sending my warm thoughts your way.

In other, less depressing news, I left work while the sun was shining and made it to the gym before the post-work crowd.

And then wrapped up my day with a salad. Look ma – no dishes!

I love when I reach the end of the lettuce container. Just throw everything in and voila! Disposable salad bowl! 🙂

I ALSO sent out a book club invite to friends in the Bay Area. These new year goals are happening, my friends. One step at a time. I’m brainstorming some catchy book club names. The Novel Bunch? Books and Booze? Between the Lines? Polar Vortex?

I’ll sleep on it.

Good night! 🙂

Any suggestions for a Book Club name? 🙂

  1. I’m feeling a little guilty with the warm So Cal weather and seeing all my friends freeze around the country.

No advice on a book club name, my now defunct book club was all about the wine and the food. I think officially we were the Very Casual Book Club. Ok, so we weren’t very creative either.

    Have fun!

  2. I’d like to find a fun book club. I don’t know if they really talk about the book, but the one in my neighborhood picks such serious books to read I’m afraid to find out. I love wordplay, so Between The Lines is great.

  3. Book clubs are so fun! Kudos to you for starting one! If you do it at a bar/if you drink, you could do Pages & Pints. There was a knitting club in NYC I always wanted to join that was Purls & Pints and sounded so awesome!

  4. Hahha, love all you ____ > Polar Vortex in this post. As a math teacher, I love that reference 🙂

I’d love to join a book club around here, but I’m not creative as far as coming up with names. Books and Booze sounds like an awesome book club to me!
