Good morning!
I’m sitting at Starbucks, trying to cool off and caffeinate after this morning.
Ishu was basically up all night long. Not sure WHY. My only explanation is that he was overtired and was having a hard time staying asleep.
But I also know there’s some sort of unwritten parenting law that states if you had a great night of sleep one night, you must absolutely not expect that the next night will be equally great.
So I went into last night anticipating there’d be some hiccups.
And hiccups there were.
Let’s hope we can get him to sleep earlier tonight.
Anyway, last Friday, one of Ishu’s toddler classroom teachers got married at City Hall. And, a few weeks ago, while they were having dinner at our apartment, she shared that she’d be making her wedding dress. Designing, sewing, all of it herself.
So when I saw her yesterday, I got to see pictures of the end result and was so amazed at her talent!
I asked her to send me some pictures so I could show Ishu. He’s been very into weddings and brides. He likes to take our throw blanket and drape it around himself and say, “I’m getting married!” He is fascinated by all the decorative things the bride gets to wear. So I knew he’d be excited to see Ms. Brittany’s pictures.
And when we got to school today, there was a sweet little present for our Ishu. She had used some of her leftover supplies to make him a flower bouquet and veil. And, man oh man, who knew something like this would make me tear up so much?
What a thoughtful (and talented) human.
I left the bag there and we didn’t open the gift up fully because drop-off is always so chaotic. And he’d be mad if I brought the bag home with me because he so clearly saw the present was addressed to him. 🙂 And I respect that. But I’ll put some pictures up here when he gets home and gets to wear the veil. Haha.
So I’m sleepy, sure. But I’m feeling very touched and my heart feels oh-so full.
