Happy Monday 🙂
The work week has just started, but it’s already halfway over! We have Parent-Teacher conferences on Thursday and Friday, so I have a feeling this ‘week’ is going to fly by. Just like this past weekend! (But isn’t that always the case with weekends?!)
Friday:
We had a multi-cultural event after school on Friday. I wasn’t planning on staying for the whole thing since it had been quite a long week, but it’s so hard to tear myself away from events like these ones.
It’s nights like these that bring our entire community together. And remind me [at the end of a LONG drawn-out week] that this is the place for me. This is the career for me. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Eventually, I manged to say my goodbyes and, around 7:30, I drove to Wine Affairs to meet up with some friends to ring in the weekend!
One glass leads to two glasses leads to three glasses. Leads to dancing in Downtown Campbell. And staying out until 3:30AM.
Which leads to this purchase at 7-11. The cashier probably thought we were crazy.
Saturday:
Jen and I wanted to go on a hike, but I didn’t think I could keep up after our late night. So after our trip to Philz and 7-11, we decided to just walk the Los Gatos trail.
It was the first time I’ve seen on a turtle out there! I seriously love this trail so much.
After our walk, we went to Whole Foods for lunch. They had live music outside which really just hurt me all over. I bought an “After Party” juice, which I drank and then dove right back into bed for a few hours.
And by “a few hours,” I really just mean that I spent the rest of the day in bed. #Late20s
Sunday:
Since my Saturday was shot, I was determined to go hiking when I woke up! Jen and I drove up to Castle Rock, which would put us at 8 consecutive weekends of trail time! 🙂
After our hike, we checked out the new Veggie Grill on Saratoga. I love love love this place. I predict we will be spending lots of time here.
After lunch, I read a little bit and did some grocery shopping with BethyV. Then, I made my way over to Mountain View for BBQ fun! [Clearly my weekends are revolved around food and drinks!]
Julia’s boyfriend, Simon, is in town and loves BBQs just as much as she does. And, luckily, California weather means we can pretty much barbecue year-round.
Julia is a much better host than I am and puts a lot of thought into her presentation. I loved the napkins she bought for the occasion.
There is partial truth to that saying. Except it’s more like: “What happens tonight goes on Instagram RIGHT NOW.” I should design napkins for a living.
We had a little fun with the selfie stick. I don’t know why I don’t have one of those yet. And then I had to deck out early because Sundays are, after all, Sundays. And things need to get done.
I ended up working for a little bit while, simultaneously, watching The Voice. I can’t believe I’m already 6 episodes behind. How does this always happen to me? Maybe it’s the universe telling me that I should probably do better things with my time. Like drink wine. Duh.
Have a good one! 🙂
