This weekend was the perfect little vacation for my brain. After being on overload for the past few weeks, it was nice to completely remove myself from all the work (didn’t bring a laptop or check work e-mail!!) and all of the crazy brain activity I’ve been having.
I took Friday off work and we got to Tahoe in the late afternoon. We walked by the lake for a bit at Sugar Pine State Park (which did, in fact, smell like Christmas trees) and then went back to the house to settle in for the night.
On Saturday morning, we woke up bright and early to get some caffeine in my system. But then got sidetracked by the beautiful sunrise.
We eventually made it to this mobile coffee cart once the sun was up. But we left disappointed because the latte tasted like a blended up robot.
So we went to another coffee shop, Gear and Grind Cafe, which was right next door. Which was much, MUCH tastier.
After we were fully caffeinated and fully fed, we spent all day outside. Hiking up to some meadows. Swimming in the lake. It was perfect.
Spending my days outside just fixes me. More than any therapy. More than any goddess card. More than any bottle of wine.
The outdoors is the best medication. The best therapy. The best best best.
Ready to tackle another week. We only have kiddos for three days this week and then Thursday and Friday are Data Days. Totally manageable.
Happy Monday! 🙂
