Good morning! I’m just over here sipping on some hibiscus tea after drop-off.
I’d also like to note here that Ishu scooted to school today. Which is a sign that this back of mine is definitely healing. Because you gotta move fast to keep up with this kid on a scooter.
I went from not being able to drop him off to slowly walking him in the stroller (and bribing him with Starbursts because what 3-year old wants to sit in a stroller?) to our usual scooting commute.
I’m so grateful for this body of mine.
Figured it’s time for another round of “funny things that Ishu said that I want to document somewhere so he can read how silly and cute he was.”
Ready?
Ankur always calls Ishu “his little guy.”
A few days ago, Ishu said, “Even when I grow into a giant, I’m gonna be papa’s little guy. And then I will make pancakes without a grown-up.”
Ha.
Or when we were approaching bedtime last week, Ankur said, “Ishu, it’s getting to be late. We gotta get ready for bed.” To which Ishu responded, “It’s 7:19 already! How did it count to that many?!”
Last weekend when we were at the museum, Ishu took a racecar out of a toddler’s hands in the Zoom Room. And I knelt down and explained to him that the room was full of racecars and we shouldn’t take things out of kids hands. And just to hit it home, before I stopped my preaching, I asked once again (to make sure he understood me), “Do we take things out of kids’ hands?” And he responded, “No only criminals take things out of kids’ hands.”
I don’t know when he adopted the word ‘criminal’ into his vocabulary. But that wasn’t me.
Okay, there’s probably a zillion more. I have a “Notes” page running on my phone because I just never want to forget the million ways this kid makes me laugh.
Even on the days he makes me wanna bang my head on a wall.
Ah, motherhood.
Alright, I’m going to go enjoy this tea with a side of scrolling Threads. Have you downloaded the app yet?!

Good morning! I can totally relate to your scooter adventures with Ishu. It’s amazing how kids can heal us and make us appreciate our bodies. And those funny things Ishu says? Priceless! I love how he wants to be his dad’s little guy even when he’s a giant. Kids really know how to make us laugh and keep us on our toes. Enjoy your tea and happy scrolling on Threads!
