Good morning!
Jen flies to Chicago today and I’m so excited to kick off this fun girls weekend! She decided to fly into Chicago so we can drive into Minnesota together and I’m so PUMPED for a 5+ hour drive together to catch up on all the things that are hard to get into with screaming kids in the background.
My (Tennessee) license expired at the end of July, but fortunately, I got that taken care of just in the nick of time. (Yes, we haven’t lived in Tennessee since 2019. Whoops).
It was one of those things I kept putting off because in order to get the Real ID, you had to have your passport. And my passport had expired in 2020. So I had to first renew those. And in order to renew those, I had to take new passport pictures. And send our certified marriage license. Because, even though I have been married for over eight years now, I never went through the process of changing my name on my passport.
So, there were all the little steps. And it just sounded hard with two small kids. So, instead of doing it, I kept putting it off. But now that it’s actually done, I look back and I wonder what took me so long. Ha.
I’m officially a resident of Illinois! Ha.
AND so then when it all got done yesterday morning, I felt on top of the world. So I thought I’d try my hand at taking the baby to Costco before returning the car.
Sweet little baby ran all Mama’s errands with her even though he hates the car seat oh-so-much.
After we picked Ishu up and spent some time hangin’ on the Riverwalk, we got back home and then I ducked out for our book club last night.
We read Molokai! Which was my contribution, of course.
Still consider it one of my favorite books of all time.
There were just four of us, but it was a perfect night sitting up at Streeterville Social. It was windy walking in the streets, but somehow we were sheltered with the buildings and it was just so nice getting to be with the other mamas.
Next month, we’re reading Lady Tan’s Circle of Women.
Still over here trying to figure out how I can get a job where all I have to do is read all day?
Can that be a thing?
Please?
Okay, I’m off to drop the monkey to school.
Have a great day!
