This post is brought to you by my mom-in-love who is currently holding the baby and sitting next to Ishu while he’s finishing breakfast.
We’ll see if Eat Teach Blog is even able to stay active in October. The only reason I can sit down to write this right now is because I’m not being summoned by one of the two children yet.
Dadi is here with us until the end of September and, if yesterday morning was a glimpse into my future when Ankur is unable to do drop-offs, it is going to feel VERY HARD to do this once she’s gone.
I mean, I know we adapt. And we make it work. And it’s going to be fine. But, man oh man, are we grateful for the extra set of hands. But not even “extra set of hands.” These very specific hands that love the kids so much. π
Ankur’s fellowship interviews have started. And, thankfully, he can do them all from Zoom rather than flying around the country.
But that also means that sometimes it’s helpful to be outta the house. So, yesterday, we hurried out the door with a still-hungry newborn and a really loud toddler. We dropped the really loud toddler to school and then we parked ourselves at the Whole Foods bar to feed the baby. Milk drunk.Β
And then, we had breakfast at Lyfe and moseyed on over to the 900 shops to the toy store. I nursed this baby on the go ’til we got back home at 1pm. Which, to some breastfeeding moms seems like NBD. But, to me? In this phase? While he’s a newborn and wobbly? Feels like a freaking win of all wins.
I didn’t nurse Ishu outta the house until he was like 8 months old. I didn’t even know how to do that without my entire set-up of chair and pillows arranged just right. In fact, I remember the exact location of where I nursed Ishu for the first time (outside Menchies, obviously) and the pride I felt afterward. I always marveled at women who could whip out their boob anywhere and everywhere to feed their babies. It wasn’t so much a shame thing for me. Just a lack of coordination.Β
And LOOK AT ME NOW. I kept taking pictures of our different nursing locations which might seem totally weird. BUT I’M TELLING YOU – THIS BABY AND LAST BABY, NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. AND I NEEDED TO DOCUMENT THIS MONUMENTAL MOMENT.
Anyway, that is all.
I am happy to be back here and start the diary of Riyaan in the same way that I’ve kept so many of Ishu’s special moments.
And now I’m off to go get the loud toddler ready. π
Have a good one!

It’s wonderful to see how you’ve adapted and grown as a mother, especially in your breastfeeding journey. Those moments of nursing on the go are indeed precious milestones. Enjoy documenting Riyaan’s special moments and have a fantastic day with your little ones! ππΆπΌ
