What’s the happs in my life lately?
A whole lot of professional development and trying to squeeze in some workouts and fun on the side. We’ve been sitting in on seminars/training/site-time from 8AM-5Pm every day.
And then when I get home, I spend a little more time doing work. It’s been a bit difficult because I don’t know my caseload yet. Our office manager has been really sick this week so I’m trying to piece information together to finalize our list of kiddos.
I’m definitely trying to squeeze fun in where I can because I know once the kids start next week, things may get a little bit hectic for a while.
A few days ago, I met up with my friend Manaf from UCLA. Manaf and I met during our 3rd year through the Student Alumni Association (SAA). We were both members of the Spring Sing Committee and will both 100% agree that being a part of Spring Sing’s development was a huge, defining moment at UCLA.
Spring Sing is UCLA’s oldest and greatest musical tradition. It is an annual music competition that brings together students to perform as solo artists, duets, bands, and a capella groups. Spring Sing is also responsible for Adam Levine’s career taking off. So you’re welcome to all the ladies who drool over him while you watch The Voice (myself included, obviously). Sara Bareilles is also a proud Spring Sing winner. Once again, you’re welcome.
We spent some time looking through our old logbook.
The logbook served as a “sign-in” each time we came to the SAA office for our office hour. And the questions ranged from, “If you could be famous for anything, what would you be famous for?” to “If you could have sex with an inanimate object, what would you choose and why?”
That was quite an entertaining read. And the entire Spring Sing committee will be receiving an e-mail this week with some memorable quotes from 2007.
Manaf and I went to the International Kabob House and ended up closing the place down because we had 5 years of life to catch up on.
I ordered the chicken wrap and it was absolutely delicious. And huge portions because I had plenty to eat and had a filling lunch for the next day! But even more important than the food was the amazing company and conversation. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. There’s just something special about your college friends.
