Can’t believe it’s Winter Break! It hasn’t quite hit me yet, but I woke up and didn’t get that typical Sunday Stress, so maybe it’s finally soaking in.
Friday:
Pajama Day. Two benefits. 1) You get to be comfy all day. 2) You get to see the little munchkins in their cute PJs.
It’s so fun to have dress down or dress-up days. Seeing these kiddos wear something other than their uniform reminds me that they are just LITTLE BABIES.
After work, I went to Color Nails salon in San Jose for a much needed mani. (I would have done them myself, but I think taking off shellac is a pain in the butt and I would rather pay double to have someone do it for me). This new-to-me salon was SO quick and so cheap. It was only $23 for a gel manicure AND they got it done quickly (which is more important to me than the quality, to be honest. I like to be in and out, thank you very much). But they even did a really great job, which I didn’t expect.
Afterward, I drove over to Andrew and Brianna’s, where I got to try some of the famous BEAN DIP. Andrew’s a chef.
We played Heads Up and Telephone Pictionary with some of Andrew’s co-workers. Andrew works at the high school that some of my Cupertino kiddos now attend. One of the teachers there has some of my favorites on her caselaod! Such a small world.
Saturday:
I was originally going to fly back to SoCal on Saturday, but I just needed a day to get my head on straight and run errands before leaving. So I changed my flight to Sunday and used Saturday as a relaxing + productive day to transition into the holiday chaos!
Jen and I drove over to Mitsuwa on Saratoga to get some things and, obviously, I walked out with something that we didn’t intend on buying. But, hello.
It was calling my name. It’s also REALLY Sriracha-flavored and not like the pretend Sriracha Lays Potato Chips that taste nothing like the sauce.
After a few errands, we ended up at our favorite, Rio Adobe. Normally, I get the Havasu Salad, but the tortilla soup sounded like a good option.
I was right.
The rest of the day was spent reading and packing. And, obviously, Banana-Gramming.
I love winning.
Now, I’m heading out in a few hours. Can’t wait to see everyone. But especially this little monkey.
Questions of the Day:
- Favorite flavor popcorn?
- What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this week? (Aside from Christmas, OBVI).
