Happy 9 months to baby Riyaan!
This is coming out a day late because we’re all busy soaking up some quality time with Riyu’s Nani, Nanu, Badi Nani, and Super Nani.
How you’re moving:
You’ve gotten the hang of crawling so well, we cannot take our eyes off of you for a second. Not that we would ever want to, but it’s no longer safe to just put you down by yourself so we can go to the other room to change our clothes, brush our teeth, or put in a load of laundry. You’ve just started pulling yourself up to stand with support and it looks like you’ll be cruising pretty soon! Some of your favorite moves are bouncing up and down on your feet or rocking back and forth when you’re on your hands and knees like you’re revving up to go flying.
What you’re saying:
Your babbling is so much fun to listen to, and at times it seems like some of the sounds are intentional. Mama, Baba, Nana, Nani, Dada, Dadi, Dudu, and Didi have all been heard in what seem like the appropriate context. Still waiting for “Papa” though, so you better get practicing that one!
What you’re eating:
Everything that can be shoved into your mouth. You don’t have any teeth, but that doesn’t stop you from gnawing and sucking on all the solids so that you don’t miss out on all the yummy foods. The best is when you grunt furiously or shout “mo mo!” while sitting in your high chair until someone feeds you your next bite. Mama’s dudu is still your favorite of course, but you’ve really expanded your choices. Just yesterday, you got to try some delicious salmon cooked to perfection by your Ruchika Masi. And you loved the ice cream cake for Ishu Bhaiya’s birthday. Hopefully soon you’ll be able to actually bring your food from your hands to your mouth, instead of just dropping it, so you don’t depend on all of us every time!
What you’re not a fan of: Wiping your nose, putting clothes on, being held for a long time, and of course car rides (no matter how short).
What you’re loving: Food (see above); drinking water from a straw; squealing, giggling, and thrashing about when reading books; music; resting your head on our shoulders when we’re holding you, which has been so snuggly for us; and as always watching and playing with Ishu Bhaiya above everything!
We love that you’re such a happy 9-month-old baby. Your smile is melting hearts, and your hugs and cuddles are everything for us. You are 3 months away from not being “0 years old” according to Ishu Bhaiya. As I’ve said before, you complete our family and I’m so so lucky to be your Papa.
