Last night, we went out to the riverwalk cause Northman Beer Garden opened up on the Riverwalk. One of Ankur’s co-residents suggested they all go there post-lecture and Ishu and I tagged along.
Seemed like the rest of Chicago had the same idea.
All of us Chicagoans are screaming about patio season and I feel like I’m one of the ones screaming the LOUDEST.
We let Ishu scoot down to the Riverwalk and, when we got there, I imagined I’d be tailing him all night. (Still worth it for the chance to be out and about).
But what ended up happening was he saw the cornhole boards and beanbags and went running in that direction. Two 20-something girls took a liking to him and the three of them played together for nearly an hour.
Ankur and I got them some ciders as a thank you and I got to talking to them both. They are both pediatric nurses (no wonder they were so darn good with him) and they were absolutely lovely humans.
They’re young and in a totally different phase of life than I’m in. But, MAN, it definitely showed me the power of using Ishu as a wingman when it comes to making friends.
Good job, Ishu.
The sun is out and your mom needs help learning how to be social again.
I just love the way toddlers have no boundaries and no social expectations to uphold and they just walk up to another human and become friends.
It’s the way to do life, really.
Thanks, Ishu, yet again for teaching your mama that it really shouldn’t be that hard.
