Mother Knows Best

I’m over here singing the song from Tangled, “Mother Knows Best” for two reasons.

1. We’ve watched Tangled at least a trillion times over the past two weeks.
2. Because Mother knows best today (and most days). Ha.

My best friend, Jen, once told me – when her daughter had spiked a fever – that she saw it coming. That she could touch her skin with her PINKY toe and know when she was coming down with something.

That’s how I feel. Well, that’s how I felt last night. During Ishu’s swim lessons. His skin felt a tiny bit warm to me – not alarmingly warm – but he was acting off and I could TELL something wasn’t 100% right.

And, sure enough, he woke up in the middle of the night – multiple times – with a barking cough.

So I’m taking him to the clinic this morning. Not sure they’re going to do much for it. It’s not a frequent cough, but when he DOES cough, it’s different sounding than his other coughs.

So, yes. He’s staying home with mama today.

And, yes. Mother knows best. 🙂
