Good morning!
A few months ago, we found out Ankur’s poster was accepted at a PM&R conference in Orlando. So, we decided to tag along with him. And then, as we were booking our tickets, we decided it’d be way more fun for all of us if we had our parents fly out from California.
Grandparent grandkid bonding time.
Mama and papa get a little break.
A win win all around.
So that’s what we did.
We spent the second half of the week in Orlando. Ankur and I didn’t have the bandwidth to plan out (or even really think about) a DisneyWorld trip. We figured we’d decide all that when we got there. Ishu’s been slowly watching all the Disney movies and we thought it’d be super fun for him to get to see all the characters.
But when we saw how much fun Ishu was having with the grandparents and compared that to the price (and crowds) of DisneyWorld, we figured we could put this experience off for a little longer.
Ishu was perfectly content with the mini waterpark in our AirBnB Community. And the ice cream truck.
We played lots of Uno. Lots of Garbage Monster.
Ishu discovered Tillamook Peaches ‘n’ Cream ice cream is his favorite ever.
Ankur and I got to go out to dinner.
The sun was shining every day while we were there.
And I just felt so much gratitude. That my kids get this quality time with their grandparents. That we can do trips like this with both sides of our family because our parents are the best of friends. That they don’t even bat an eye when they have to take two flights to come hang out with us. (And if you know Arun Budhraja, you know that layovers are definitely not his jam).
So, anyway, even though we’re all home and recovering from a virus we picked up during these travels, I am so grateful for this past week and so in love with my family.
I can’t really tell you much about what to do in Orlando or DisneyWorld, but I can tell you that memories were made in Florida and that feels like absolutely enough.
