Good morning!
Let me just start this post off by saying, NO, we are not expecting twins. Don’t let the title trick you. More on my three kids below.
But, first, can I say THANK YOU to everyone who showered me with love since I first made the decision to pull Ishu out of daycare?
And it wasn’t even like, “Yeah, you do you, mama” kind of love. It was the “WAHOOOOO, TRUST that mama gut!” kind of love. Not just empathy, but like true understanding and high fives for making that decision because it came from a place of knowing my kid.
So, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Yesterday, we were running low on diapers so I thought I’d pop by the daycare to see if I could pick up some of the stuff we left in his cubby. Before I even crossed the street, Ishu spotted the building and started flailing in the stroller. Screaming. I tried to reassure him that we weren’t going to stay, but how much is a toddler really taking in when they’re in such a high stress state? Not much.
Needless to say, we walked straight past the daycare.
(And, when we got home, our diapers had been delivered. So wham bam, I’ll take that as another sign from the universe).
I immediately texted my cousins, worried that I’ve permanently scarred this little baby.
To which my Bhabhi responded with…
Again, I am the luckiest to have the most supportive humans in my life.
ANYWAY, on to the whole “mama of 3” business.
Yes, I’m Ishu’s mama. But I’ve recently become a PLANT MAMA.
Last week, at the farmer’s market, I bought myself a zebra plant. (Her name is Victoria if you’re a Lazy Lolly and didn’t click the link above). And since I’ve done such a great job at keeping her alive for a week (this is HUGE news if you’ve been around since 2014. Bert and Ernie died a slow and painful death because I’m an over-waterer), I decided to go BIGGER and get a Monstera plant (AKA the swiss cheese plant!).
I even went to a floral shop and got me a nice ceramic pot. So I’m in it for the LONG HAUL.
The Monstera is named Sullivan. You can call him Sully for short.
So, look at me.
Mama to Ishu, Victoria, and Sullivan. And none of them are going to daycare. BOOM.
Question of the Day:
Are you a plant person? (And by “plant person,” I mean…can you keep them alive?)
Melody Queen says
I’m a very limited plant person. I have a couple on my sink windowsill that I’ve managed to keep alive. One of them is living it’s best life, some of just doin’ ok. And then I’ve got one who is like Wesley, from Princess Bride, hangin’ on pretty well after being mostly dead. lol

Love it. I got some house plants myself a few months ago and have been so happy to have them around. They’re both beautiful plants!
