Good morning!
I’m popping on here a little later than usual because, GET THIS, we slept in.
Well, to be fair, Ishu was up and ready to party at like 4am. He’s been waking up SO EARLY this week and I’ve been such a grump about it.
I think the sleepiness finally caught up to me so when he started crawling around the bed, I kept dragging him back to me and saying, “No. Sleep. Time to sleep.”
And somehow he DID? He fell back asleep until 7:30ish and, man, I needed that.
So, here’s to those few moments where *I* get to be the boss around here.
I really like those moments.
Now he’s playing with his new dinosaur cars (<– very pleased with this purchase) and I’m sitting on the couch typing this up.
Yesterday morning, I left Ankur and Ishu at home and met up with a Peanut mom for coffee at La Colombe over in the Lincoln Park area. Her little guy is only 8 months, but it was really nice to meet her and I’m sure we’ll be hanging out again soon.
It was also my first time trying an oat milk latte and, I gotta say, this place makes me feel like I could enjoy that drink. I never imagined myself to be an oat milk person, but this was YUM.
By the time I got home, Ishu was pretty much ready for a nap. Which meant I was able to take that caffeine running through my system and put it to use.
I hammered out a few things for work and it felt SO GOOD to get those things done.
When he woke up, I was in the middle of typing up a report and I wanted to keep working on it. So I put out his toys and hoped he would occupy himself with those for a little bit.
I must have pushed my limit because he walked over to me, pushed my laptop closed and said, “Mama meeting over.”
Ha.
So we went outside to play. My baby boss.
Now you can see why I REALLY needed that win this morning, yeah?
Sometimes mama needs to win too. Especially when it comes to her sleep.
Question of the Day:
Are you an oat milk latte person? What’s your coffee drink?
