Good morning, good morning.
Coming in hot (seriously…I’M SWEATING BUCKETS RIGHT NOW) from the Starbucks in Target because I just needed some air. I opted for one of their frozen refresher drinks because that sounded preferable right now. And there’s still a teeny bit of caffeine in it, so win win.
By the time I drop Ishu off to his class these days, I look like I’ve run a marathon.
So, that should count for some movement of the day, right?
Last night was the 8th time that this little guy slept in his toddler bed. Apparently he tried to sneak onto the foot of our bed at some point last night. I didn’t wake up but Ankur gently placed him back in his own bed. He woke up one more time but, again, I was dead to the world.
Although at 6am, his little face was right in front of mine saying, “MAMA, when Babaji and Dadi and Nanu and Nani come, we can watch Lion King, okay?”
Anyway, drop-offs and pick-ups have been going well these days. He is really comfortable with his classroom and his teachers. In fact, what ends up happening most times at pick-up is he’ll have us wait in the hall because he wants to finish whatever he’s working on. He’s definitely not eager to leave. Which brings me a lot of joy because there is so much comfort in knowing your kid is happy in school. He spends more time there than at home during the weekdays, so it feels real good when he looks forward to it.
Yesterday, after school, we had swimming lessons. We have a new instructor that has definitely been a better fit for Ishu. He seems happier and more joyful in the pool and I love that.
And then, last night before going to bed, we picked out 4 books (2 for Papa, 2 for Mama) and took turns reading to him.
Of course, I got assigned “Love You Forever.” I can never get through the book without getting emotional. Ishu was very confused by my tears, but damnit that book gets me every time.
I HAVE ALL THE EMOTIONS THESE DAYS.
Okay I’m going to sign off and throw myself in a book for a little bit.
Have a good one!
